PRINCE2® describes the organizational structures and processes which are needed to control a project but does not describe specific techniques for delivering technical products.
Therefore it can be used very successfully to provide a governance layer to IT-specific project management methods like ASAP and other traditional cascade methodologies or agile methodologies like DSDM Atern or SCRUM, or even to control a project where different parts of the project product are delivered using different techniques.
